Many years ago, I met the wonderful David Marshall, a Scottish-born sculptor who lives part of the year in Spain and partly in Hahn's Peak, Colorado with his wife Dagmar.  On their  property overlooking Steamboat Lake is a barn like no other, which they built from reclaimed wood and filled it with 50 years worth of treasures David collected over endless global adventures. It also houses several collections from his own incredible metal and wood sculpted pieces. In 2022, over a glass of wine or two, we decided it would be fun to open the barn to the public for a pop-up show. He and I, along Jennifer Baker, a glass artist he often collaorates with, launched "Behind Closed Doors." Much to our delight, folks came by in their masses. Since then we have hosted a handful of shows and invited an eclectic mix of artists to display their works along with us. The Art Barn Series has morphed into a popular event as visitors never quite know what to expect from one day to the next.
