Acrylic and Pastel

I have to admit I am absolutely obsessed with wheat fields, the texture, the movement and the way the light changes them throughout the day. I grew up surrounded by fields of barley, oats and wheat, and find myself once again amid golden fields in my Colorado hometown.

When a storm rolls through I am always in awe at the sense of resilience I see as the stalks get tossed around, sending them whipping back and forth en masse. When you look closely at them you can usually see little wildflowers dotted amid the strands of gold. Even on the darkest of days these fields always seem bright. 

It is a reminder life is filled with hope and everything has a silver lining when we really take time to look.
